John Woo Readies 'Red Cliff' for International Market
Hong Kong director John Woo held a press conference today (Jan 6th) announcing he has finished editing an international version of Red Cliff and is offering it to American distributors. The $80 million epic, based on an ancient Chinese battle, has already been picked up in Europe and South America. The Red Cliff international version will be a single film lasting two hours and 25 minutes instead of the two installments lasting a combined five hours for Asia.
TVXQ Readies for Asia Tour
TVXQ will be on the road a lot this year. The five-member group will embark on their Third Asia Tour Concert-Mirotic, starting in Korea on February 20th at the Seoul Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium. Other cities scheduled for the tour are Shanghai, Beijing, Taipei and Bangkok.
Later this month TVXQ will release their 25th Japanese single Bolero on January 21st.

Plot: A vampire named Saya (Jeon Ji-hyun), who is part of covert government agency that hunts and destroys demons in a post-WWII Japan, is inserted in a military school to discover which one of her classmates is a demon in disguise.
Blood: The Last Vampire hits theatres in March 2009.
Hiroko Hatano & Keita Suzuki Wed
According to Japan Today, Actress Hiroko Hatano, 33, who is six months pregnant, and Urawa Reds soccer player Keita Suzuki, 27, on Sunday held a lavish wedding reception at the Peninsula Hotel in Tokyo.
This will be the second marriage for Hatano, who was once married to Takashi Kashiwabara, 31, in 2004, but the couple divorced in 2006.

'Billu Barber' Lands in Theatres Next Month
Anticipated Bollywood comedy Billu Barber, starring Irrfan Khan, Lara Dutta and Shahrukh Khan, hits theatres February 13th. Billu Barber is a remake of the successful Malayalam feature Kadha Parayumbol.
The film centers on the friendship between Billu, the village barber, and a celebrity shooting on location in the village with a twist towards the end of the film.

Korean singer Ivy is planning to return to the music scene after the scandal involving a sex video her ex-boyfriend threatened to release in 2007. Park Shin-yang Pledges Academic Scholarships For Next 30 Years
Actor Park Shin-yang has pledged to provide scholarships for the next 30 years to his alma mater, Dongguk University. Every year he will award a student 50% of the tuition costs for two semesters. Park said he wanted to do something he wouldn’t regret five years down the road.

According to the Sports Hankook newspaper yesterday (Jan 1st), actor Bae Yong-joon and Park Jin-Young have agreed to work on a joint world project targeting overseas markets, including the U.S. and Japan. Both partners will invest at least 50 million won (US$37,921.88) each. Bae and Park plan to nurture entertainers with global potential.
Currently, Bae has a company tailored to the Japanese entertainment market through BOFi. Park has a company, JYP USA, the American division of JYP Entertainment, in New York.
Actress Parvathi Menon Puts Education First
Actress Parvathy has refused dozen of offers after the film Poo because she is preparing for her B.A. final exams.
“I’ve not taken up any offer after Poo. This is because I’m preparing for my BA final year exams. I wasn’t able to write it last year but there’s no way I’ll miss it this year. In fact, I was offered many movies [including] Aval Peyar Tamilarasi, but I had to say no,” said Parvathy.
