Director Takeuchi Hideki and the stars of Nodame Cantabile: The Movie II Ueno Juri and Tamaki Hiroshi promoted their new film at a press conference held at the Seoul Lotte Cinemas on September 2nd.

More posters were released for Tsui Hark’s upcoming movie Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame, starring Andy Lau, Carina Lau, Li Bingbing and Tony Leung Ka-fai.

Side note: The new posters suggest Detective Dee moved its release date from September 23rd to now September 29th. Take note folks.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra is set to direct Nicolas Cage in his upcoming gangster flick Broken Horses. The film is based off of Chopra’s 1989 award-winning movie Parinda (aka The Bird). The Hindustan Times is reporting,

“Vidhu is currently in Los Angeles, working on for Broken Horses. Even in Mumbai, he was in touch with his Hollywood contacts for the cast and crew. Cage has been confirmed for one of the leading roles just a few days ago,” says our source.”

Mickey Rourke was reportedly approached to also star in the film; however, there’s no word as to whether he will officially join the cast. I’ll keep you posted.

Filming is expected to begin early next year.

The first trailer was released for Zhang Yimou‘s upcoming romantic drama The Love of the Hawthorn Tree (aka Under The Hawthorn Tree), starring newcomers Zhou Dongyu and Dou Xiao.

The film releases in theatres on September 16th.
