Head & Shoulders announced yesterday that the company has taken out a $1 million hair insurance policy for their celebrity spokesperson, Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu.
“Head & Shoulders has gone above and beyond this year by insuring my Samoan locks for a cool $1 million. This reinforces that my full and thick hair is unstoppable,” says Polamalu.
The company noted that his hair is so thick that, end to end, it spans 1,100 football fields and can hold approximately 24,062 pounds.
No joke folks: You can play with Troy’s famous 35″ ringlets at Troyshair.com.
My thoughts: *smacks lips* I bet he’s so conceited with that hair.
Jet Li and Jackie Chan attended the inaugural opening of the 2010 Beijing SportAccord Combat Games celebration on Saturday. The sporting competition is billed as the biggest comprehensive international sports event to be held in the capital since the Summer Olympic Games in 2008.
“It’s my dream to help Taiji push-hands become an official Olympic sport. I’ll spare no efforts to make that happen in 20 years,” said Li.
In the meantime, Jet Li’s latest Hollywood flick The Expendables has earned $82,010,000 in the U.S., $3,850,015 internationally; generating a total of $85,860,015 worldwide as of August 29th.
Btw, Stallone recently told the media the real reason behind Jean-Claude Van Damme’s refusal to star in The Expendables.
“I wanted to set Jean-Claude against Jet Li, but he didn’t want to lose to Jet. He didn’t think that was cool,” Stallone told The Sunday Times.
My thoughts: For Van Damme to think he could/should beat Jet Li in film (and possibly in real life) is…well…laughable at best.
Elin Nordegren tells People magazine that she’s “been through hell.”
After nine months of staying mum Elin is now publicly sharing her private thoughts on her divorce, which was made final this week, from Tiger Woods and how she’s coping with her new life.
“I have been through the stages of disbelief and shock, to anger and ultimately grief over the loss of the family I so badly wanted for my children. My immediate plan is for the kids and me to continue to adjust to our new situation. I am going to keep taking classes, but my main focus is to try to give myself time to heal.”
ABC’s Good Morning America reported on Elin’s magazine interview this morning. The video below.
Folks, this is how you look AFTER you’ve been caught cheating on your wife, losing millions in endorsement deals and slowly but surely tumbling down from being ranked as the #1 golfer in the world.
On Saturday, Tiger Woods posted his worst score at the Bridgestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio since turning pro in 1996. Woods is currently ranked at #78, just two spots up from the bottom. Sports analysts are predicting that by the end of the weekend Phil Mickelson will unseat Tiger to become the new #1 golfer in the world.
Takeru Kobayashi, a six-time winner of the Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest, was all smiles as he left a Brooklyn, NY courtroom today. A judge ruled that Kobayashi’s record will be purged if he stays out of trouble for six months.
On July 4th the 32-year-old eating champ was charged with obstruction of governmental administration, resisting arrest, trespassing and disorderly conduct after he jumped on stage hoping to compete in this year’s contest. A contract dispute kept Kobayashi out of competition.
“I was there as a spectator just to cheer on my buddies.” Fans chanted for him, and “in the heat of it, I jumped on the stage, hoping they would let me eat.”
His attorney, Mario D. Romano, said his client was waved up onstage after spectators began chanting, “Let him eat!”
Side note: I LMAO for a good 2 minutes when I first read about this craziness last month. I’m glad to see everything worked out for his buns. lol
